The Wilson College Athletic Department announced the dedication of the Athletic Hall of Fame in Honor of the 17th Wilson College President, Gwendolyn Jensen, at their annual Athletic Banquet in 2001.

Jensen was responsible for initiating Wilson's NCAA Division III membership in 1995. During her reign the college added Gymnastics, Basketball, and Soccer bringing the total to eight intercollegiate sports. During the capital campaign, the president raised money to improve the athletic facilities; which included the resurfacing of the tennis
courts and the field hockey field and construction of the equestrian center arena, soccer field, and softball field.

Inductees to the Gwendolyn Jensen Athletic Hall of Fame must have exhausted their intercollegiate eligibility, have achieved advanced level recognition for their athletic achievements and contributed significantly to the overall athletic program.
