Wilson’s Worlock Claims Men's Golf Academic Honor from United East

(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The United East has announced its Senior Scholar Athlete Award winners for the spring season and Wilson's Tristan Worlock is the recipient for men's golf. This award recognizes a senior who truly represents the student-athlete model by performing in competition, in the classroom, and around the community.

Worlock played a large role in helping the Phoenix men's golf program gain notoriety within the conference. A three-year member of the squad, Worlock worked his way into the top spot in the lineup, becoming team captain in the process. In 2024-25, Worlock rewrote the history books as he notched the school record for single day low score (77) and two-day low score (160).

A political science major with a business administration major, the DeRuyter, N.Y., native held a GPA of 3.50 and was a consistent Dean's List recipient and United East Scholar Athlete. Worlock was in constant service of the Wilson community, especially in the athletic department where he spent his time as a game and event manager.

"Tristan Worlock was a leader/contributor and record holder for the Wilson Golf Team. He improved rapidly and expressed his love of the sport through his practice and play," said head coach Tony Yaniello. "Always helping others and his passion for golf and his academics were always on display to others. Having shared his journey as his coach, student-athletes like Tristan are special people who will not only live in their community but live for it."
