Phoenix Conclude N.Y. Trip With Loss Against Cazenovia

Box Score Cazenovia, N.Y. – The Phoenix women's basketball team dropped a conference game against Cazenovia College this afternoon, 98-47, in the final contest of their N.Y. road trip.

A couple of Wilson turnovers early left Wilson trailing 7-0 with 18:07 remaining in the first half. The Phoenix struggled to maintain ball control as Cazenovia expanded their lead to 28-9 with 11:39 remaining. The Wildcats strong together several long scoring runs toward the close of the half, helping them take a 48-21 lead over the Phoenix at halftime.

The Wildcats scored an additional 50 points in the second half to take the game easily from the Phoenix. Wilson managed to score 26 points in the second half, but could not make a dent in the large deficit.

Wilson recorded a 23.4 field goal percentage (11-of-47) in the game and shot 20.0 percent from the three point line. Miranda Long and Amber Jones led the Phoenix offense, scoring nine points apiece.

The Phoenix return home and host Bryn Athyn College on Tuesday. January 27 at 6:00 p.m.
