(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – The Wilson women's basketball team closed the regular season against the same team it will open the postseason with on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, it was Penn State Abington that was on the better side of the score as the Phoenix fell behind early and couldn't catch up with the Lions.
As a result, Wilson will get a bye to the quarterfinals and be the sixth seed which will see the Phoenix head to third-seed Penn State Abington on Saturday, February 21.

How It Happened
- It was a slow start for the Phoenix who trailed by 14 heading to the second. Chloe Irving provided a spark 2:31 into the frame as she trained a 3-pointer on an assist from Chelcie Forrester before making the steal on Abington's return trip and going in for a layup to put the score at 27-17. Abington responded swiftly with a 7-0 run and went into halftime up 13. The Lions added to their lead in the third and went on to victory after a balanced fourth quarter.
Inside The Numbers
- Jewels Torres and Leah Laubach each scored 16 points to lead the Phoenix. Most of Torres' damage came at the free throw line where she made 10-of-15.
- Both were also good defensively as Torres had four steals and Laubach had three. Irving joined Torres for team-high honors with four.
- Irving had a solid day where she scored 13 points and pulled in 10 rebounds for the double-double.
