The Basics

Venue: Gannett Field House

Records: Wilson 14-9, 7-4 UE; Keystone 4-19, 3-9 UE

How It Happened
  • Keystone stayed with Wilson for the first five minutes, but after that the Phoenix were off to the races as they closed the frame on a 20-3 run. It was one of the most efficient quarters of play the Blue and White have had all year as they went 10-for-13 from the field. Torres led the charge as she scored a dozen alone after she went a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and made all six free throw attempts. An 11-0 run through the middle of the second helped Wilson extend its lead even more. It was Wilson's best run of the game and it went into the locker room up 45-19.
  • The Phoenix offense slowed down a little in the third, but quickly rose again to prominence down the stretch. On the opposite side, Wilson's defense locked down the Giants and limited them to just one field goal in the final quarter. It resulted in the Phoenix extending their lead and taking the victory.
Inside The Numbers
  • The 32-point victory was Wilson's largest in the series. The Phoenix have now won four of their last five contests with Keystone.
  • Torres finished with 23 points and went 13-for-15 from the free throw line. She was excellent defensively as well with six steals.
  • Black had an excellent all-around game. She scored 10 points offensively and excelled on the defensive end with seven rebounds and five steals.
  • Irving's double-double was her fourth of the season. Her 14 rebounds are a career-high.
Playoff Picture
  • Wilson had a bid to the United East Championship tournament already locked in prior to the game. After Saturday's contests, the Phoenix are tied for fifth place in the United East standings with games against Valley Forge and Penn State Abington left on the schedule.
  • The Phoenix could finish as high as third or as low as eighth. The top six teams get byes to the quarterfinals with the top four teams hosting that round. The seventh and eighth seeds will host first round games.
Up Next
The Phoenix will head to Phoenixville to take on Valley Forge on Tuesday.
