How It Happened
  • A defensive first quarter saw Wilson stay close with the Lions. While the Phoenix were limited to eight points, Abington also struggled offensively. Mackenzie Caldwell-Degnon (Jr., Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) drilled a 3-pointer to make the score 9-6 in favor of the Lions, and a pair of free throws by Jewels Torres (Sr., York, Pa. / West York) kept Wilson within a possession before the Lions closed the frame with a layup.
  • After a Chelcie Forrester (Sr., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg / WVU Potomac State) layup opened the second quarter, Abington started to pull away. An 11-0 run made it 24-10, and by the half the Lions led by 21. The third quarter saw Wilson again limited to eight points while the hosts had their best offensive period.
