Turnovers Plague Phoenix In Loss to St. Elizabeth

Box Score Morristown, N.J. – The Phoenix women's basketball team fell to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the road today, 87-47.
 
Wilson and St. Elizabeth each recorded similar shooting statistics in the first half.  The Phoenix shot 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from the floor while St. Elizabeth shot 42.5 percent (17-of-40).  Wilson also had luck shooting from the arch as they were 4-of-5 in three pointers.  Turnovers proved to be the plague in the first half for Wilson as they committed 23.  St. Elizabeth led Wilson 44-28 at halftime. 
 
Wilson's shooting went cold in the second half, scoring just 19 points while St. Elizabeth scored 43. Wilson's field goal percentage dropped to 27.6 percent (8-of-29) and they were 0-6 in three point attempts.  The Phoenix also added an additional 17 turnovers, providing more ball possession for St. Elizabeth. 
 
Miranda Long led the Phoenix with 17 points.  Teniera Prioleau and Morgan Wonders contributed with 10 points and 8 points respectively. 
 
Wilson will host Penn College on Sunday, January 11 at 12:00 p.m. for a conference game.
