Phoenix Slammed by St. Elizabeth At Home

Chambersburg, Pa. –The Wilson women's basketball team slipped to 0-2 in conference play this afternoon, as they were defeated by St. Elizabeth, 94-44. 
 
The College of Saint Elizabeth came out hot against the Phoenix, recording a 52.6 field goal percentage (20-of-38) in the first half.  Wilson struggled offensively, as the Eagles defended in a full court press.  The Phoenix were just 8-of-25 from the floor (32.0 percent) and committed 18 fouls in the half.  After playing neck and neck for the first ten minutes of regulation the Eagles pulled away and led 57-26 at halftime. 
 
Facing a large deficit in the second half, the momentum remained on the Eagle's bench.  Shooting struggles continued for the Phoenix as they were 7-of-30 inside the paint and 0-of-8 from the arch.  Wilson also had trouble maintaining ball possession as they turned the ball over 13 times in the half.
 
Wilson finished the game, accumulating 38 turnovers and 24 fouls.  The team also recorded a 27.3 field goal percentage (15-of-55). 
 
The Phoenix return to action in the new year, when they face off against Bryn Athyn College on January 6 at 6:00 p.m. on the road.
