Box Score The Wilson women's basketball team traveled to Bryn Athyn College this evening for a 7:00pm contest against the Lions. The Phoenix fell to the Lions, 35-66, slipping to 0-4 on the season.
In the first half, the Phoenix were 8 for 24 on the floor and 3 for 8 in three point shot attempts. Wilson unfortunately turned the ball over 20 times causing Bryn Athyn to gain more possessions and take a 42-23 lead over the Phoenix at the half.
Bryn Athyn came out hot in the second half posting an early scoring run against Wilson. The Lions scored 18 points within the first ten minutes of the second half and held the Phoenix to just five points. A combination of cold shooting and turnovers caused the game to slip out of Wilson's reach for a comeback. Wilson was limited to just 12 points in the second half.
Senior
Vanessa Whitfield totaled 16 points and 13 rebounds in the contest. Sophomore
Alexis Ankro chipped in with nine points.
The Phoenix continue NEAC play on Sunday, December 8
th when they travel to Gallaudet University for a 3pm afternoon contest.
