Wilson Slips to 0-2 on the Season

Box Score The Wilson College women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 on the season after losing to Christendom College this evening by a final score of 46-69. 
 
Wilson led early in the game before letting the Crusaders rally to match them.  The first half closed with a close score of 27-26, with the Phoenix only trailing one.  The Crusaders offense sparked in the second half led by Mary Barbale who finished the game with 29 points. 
 
The Phoenix let the game slip away from them as they turned the ball over 22 times and were just 1-14 in three point shot attempts.  Wilson shot .313 from the floor (20-of-64).  The Crusaders were able to record some key three point shots late in the game, adding a cushion to their lead. 
 
Senior Vanessa Whitfield led Wilson in scoring with 26 points.  Freshman Teniera Prrioleau and sophomore Morgan Wonders recorded eight points apiece.  Whitfield also led in rebounding with 17 in the game.  Wonders followed with ten rebounds. 
 
The Phoenix return to action after Thanksgiving break.  They will open up NEAC competition on December 3rd when they travel to Lancaster Bible for a 7pm contest.
