(LATHAM, N.Y.) – After having a stellar weekend where he was runner-up at the Pennsylvania Classic, Wilson's
Cole Cooper (Virginia Beach, Va. / Salem) has been named the United East Golfer of the Week.
The rookie sensation placed second among 120 golfers representing 22 teams over the weekend. He was third at the end of the first round after he finished with an even 72 on Saturday. He moved up one spot on the leader board on Sunday's final round as he shot a one-over 73. He birdied nine holes throughout the event with four on Saturday and five on Sunday.
The results broke the program record for single round score and tournament score which already belonged to Cooper.
This is Cooper's first United East weekly accolade of his career.
Cooper and the Phoenix will be back on the links on Saturday, April 11, in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Catholic University at Block Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown.
