(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) – Cole Cooper (Virginia Beach, Va. / Salem) capped off an incredible tournament by placing second in the individual standings at the Pennsylvania Classic hosted by Penn State this weekend. A day after finishing even, the first year phenom hit one-over and jumped up one spot in the standings to finish runner-up out of 120 golfers representing 22 different teams from 19 schools.
He finished with a two-round total of 145, just four strokes off from the medalist Christopher Hoffman from Allegheny. Washington & Jefferson's Matthew Morelli moved up seven spots to finish a stroke behind Cooper.
Cooper birdied four holes on the day which included Hole 1 which he equaled Saturday. Others included the ninth, 10th, and 18th. He had some slight trouble on the second, third, and fifth holes to score a 37 out, but recovered nicely on the turn and finished with a 36 on the back nine.
