(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Wilson men's golf team opened the spring season in the Dickinson Invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course on Sunday and Monday. The Phoenix opened up the tournament by recording their second-best round in program history while cooler temperatures on a chilly Monday dropped scores for everyone across the board.
Cole Cooper (FY, Virginia Beach, Va. / Salem) played extremely well and hit a 78 on Sunday and carded a 79 in the second round to finish first for the Phoenix. He scored a pair of birdies on Sunday and used consistent play on Monday to finish with a two-day total of 157.
Brady Curran (FY, Frederick, Md. / Linganore) improved from the first to second round by three strokes. He scored 169 total with ana 86 on Sunday and an 83 Monday.
Junchen Huang (Jr., Taiwan / Veritas) scored in the seventies on Sunday with a 79 and finished with a two-day total of 172.
Rob Kozicki (Sr., Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) completed the team scoring with a 173 on an 81 and a 93.
Bryson Curtis (FY, Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) was the fifth player on the squad and finished a 193.
Host Dickinson won the event with a 581. Their B team tied with Franklin & Marshall for second.
The Phoenix will be back on the greens this weekend at the Penn State D3 Challenge.
