(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for March 23, and Wilson's
Chase Supensky (Baltimore, Md. / Towson) has received accolades for baseball's top pitcher. Supensky guided the Phoenix to a shutout win in their conference opener against Cairn over the weekend by going the distance in a three-hit shutout.
The senior southpaw was masterful as he struck out nine batters against four walks. He had multiple strikeouts in three of the seven innings. Supensky retired one runner on a pickoff as well after he walked in the first inning.
This is Supensky's first Pitcher of the Week award.
With Monday's game at York postponed, Wilson returns to the diamond on Tuesday as it hosts McDaniel in a single nine-inning game. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
