How It Happened (Game 1)
- Wilson had a hot start as Derek Chavera (FY, Falfurrias, Texas / Falfurrias) doubled in Drish and Samuel Martin (Jr., Maugansville Md. / North Hagerstown / Hagerstown C.C.) for a quick 2-0 lead in the first. Unfortunately, the momentum ended there and quickly ramped up for the Patriots who scored three in the first, one in the second, and four in the third to take control of the game. Scoring resumed for the home team in the sixth and seventh to make it 10-2. Tyler O'Brien (So., Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) got the Phoenix back on the board with a double to left to bring in Chavera, but the Patriots were able to end the game with three in the eighth.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- Clapp got Wilson on the board in the first inning with a base hit to right to bring in Drish who reached with a double to left. Like the first game, Valley Forge answered in the bottom half and took a 2-1 lead on a wild pitch. The score remained dormant until the fifth when Wilson regained the lead. Jake McFarland (FY, Salisbury, Md. / James M. Bennett) provided the boost with a base hit to center to circle around Clapp and Martin. He later scored on a Payton Bennett (Jr., Buckhannon, W.Va. / Buchannon-Upshur / Davis & Elkins) single to center to make it 4-2.
- After Valley Forge got one back in the bottom half, Clapp continued his strong game with a base hit to right to score Drish and Cody Valentine (Jr., Fairfield, Pa. / St. Andrews) in the sixth. The Patriots added another on a sac fly in the bottom of the frame. Wilson then added an insurance run as Chavera singled in Drish. Wilson wasn't completely out of the woods as Valley Forge loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth. Chavera called on to take the hill and promptly got the next three batters to pop up to record the save.
