(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson fell to Albright in a non-conference showdown on a chilly afternoon in downtown Chambersburg Monday. The Lions jumped out to an early lead and limited the Phoenix bats to three hits to take the win.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 2, Albright 16 (7 Innings)
Venue: Henninger Field
Records: Wilson 5-23-1, Albright 14-20-1
How It Happened
- Albright started off fast as the first three batters all reached. A sacrifice fly allowed one run and the Lions built a 5-0 lead from there as they went through the order. Two innings later, a triple down the right field line allowed another run to score for a 6-0 lead.
- Wilson generated some momentum as Sandro Granados (So., Hyattsville, Md. / Northwestern) led off the inning by getting to second on an infield error. A Cody Valentine (Jr., Fairfield, Pa. / St. Andrews) single moved him to third before Samuel Martin (Jr., Maugansville, Md. / North Hagerstown / Hagerstown C.C.) hit him in on a fielder's choice. Unfortunately, the Lions answered with four runs in the next inning. The Blue and White were able to get another one as Garrett Drish (FY, Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) singled in Valentine, but that would be it for the Wilson bats the rest of the way.
