(LOGAN, N.J.) – The second show date of the season was a splendid one for the Wilson Western team as it was the high point team for the morning event on Saturday. The Phoenix followed up by placing third in the afternoon show and took home four blue ribbons overall with three in the opening show of the day.
One of the catalysts for the high point placing was former national champion
Julie Warnick (Sr., New Oxford, Pa.) who had another first in her career as she was named the high point individual. She finished first in reining as well as fourth in open horsemanship to receive the honor.
First place ribbons also went to
Avery Kellum (FY, Lititz, Pa.) and
Elizabeth Dillon (FY, Shelocta, Pa.) in the morning show. Kellum took the blue ribbon in ranch riding while Dillons received hers in Rookie B horsemanship.
Maddie Cramer (So., Orrtanna, Pa. ) also had reason to celebrate as her fourth place finish in Rookie B pointed her out and qualified for regionals.
In the afternoon Dillon placed first once again in Rookie B for her third win of the season.
Warnick finished second in reining while
Rachel Bardsley (Jr., Palmyra, Pa.) took runner-up in Level 1. Third place ribbons went to Kellum in open horsemanship,
Mahala Holland (So., Glen Burnie, Md.) in Rookie B, and
Savannah Benz (FY, Orrstown, Pa.).
Western will be back in action next Saturday at Delaware Valley.
