(SCHWENKSVILLE, Pa.) – The Wilson equestrian Western team wrapped up its fall portion of the season with an excellent morning show at Delaware Valley on Saturday. The Phoenix placed in the top three in all but one ride and earned the reserve high point team award behind only Penn State.
Three riders also qualified for regionals. Two of them were in the morning show.
Rachel Bardsley (Jr., Palmyra, Pa.) did so by placing first in Level 1 horsemanship.
Julie Warnick (Sr., New Oxford, Pa.) qualified for the postseason for a third consecutive year by placing third in open horsemanship. She also placed second in the reining category.
Other top finishes went to
Adaira Decker (Jr., Kearneysville, W.Va.) who was first in Rookie B horsemanship,
Elizabeth Dillon (FY, Shelocta, Pa.) who was second in the same evening,
Maddie Cramer (So., Orrtanna, Pa.) who was second in Level 1 horsemanship, and
Chloe Kelley (So., Taneytown, Md.) who was third in beginner horsemanship.
In the afternoon show, the Phoenix placed third behind Penn State and show host DelVal.
Decker placed fourth in Rookie B which pointed her into Level 1 and qualified her for regionals.
Dillon finished second in Rookie B, while
Avery Kellum (FY, Lititz, Pa.) finished third in open horsemanship and Kelley took third in beginner.
The Phoenix will ride again in the spring semester on Saturday, January 31.
