(VILLANOVA, Pa.) – For the second time this season Wilson's
Jordan McKenzie (Jr., White Plains, Md. / North Point) has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Week. The Phoenix center fielder had one of the best weeks of his career while helping the Blue and White to a 4-0 week.
All told, he went a combined 13-of-19 with five of those hits going for extra bases. Two of those were home runs giving him a CSAC-best nine for the season. Two more were triples and he added a double for good measure.
As a result, the run production was up as well as McKenzie hit in 12 RBI and scored eight runs. He recorded at least two hits, RBI, and runs scored in all four games.
McKenzie opened the week with a 5-for-6 performance at Messiah with four RBI and two runs scored. In the three-game series sweep against the Defenders, he went a combined 8-for-13 with eight RBI, six runs scored, two home runs, and two triples.
Nationally he ranks seventh with a .496 batting average, 11th with 66 hits, 11th with 1.54 runs scored per game, 12th with 54 runs scored, 17th with an .842 slugging percentage, and 17th with 112 total bases.
McKenzie and the Phoenix will return to action when they hose Pitt-Bradford in a home doubleheader. First pitch with the Panthers is scheduled for 1 p.m.
