Shortly after four more Phoenix reached home plate extending the Wilson lead to 7-1. The Knights answered with three runs in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead and trail 4-7. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Curry and Hoff reached home to extend the lead to 11-4. In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Phoenix found more runs starting off with Procopio stealing home on a wild pitch. Next to bat was freshman Chris Baumann (Snow Hill, MD, Snow Hill HS) in his first collegiate at-bat hit a three-run home run to left field bringing the score to 15-4. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Procopio hit a home run to left field to score the final run for the Phoenix.
