(MONT ALTO, Pa.) – Cole Cooper shot a 75 to finish as the runner-up medalist and Wilson scored a 332 to place fourth in the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational on Wednesday. Cooper led the Phoenix by carding four birdies to finish three-over behind only Mont Alto's Jacob Bassham who finished with an even par.
The Phoenix turned in their best round of the season which was played at Penn National Golf Course.
Brady Curren was the next Wilson linkster on the leaderboard as he finished with an 80.
Scotty Zorn and
Brandon Burt completed the team score with an 87 and 90, respectively.
Gavin Pietras was the fifth member of the squad and turned in a 93.
Penn State Hazleton won the event with a 317. Penn State Mont Alto was second and eight strokes back with a 325. Penn State Lehigh Valley edged out the Phoenix with a 328.
Penn State Scranton, Penn State Dubois, Penn State Schuylkill, and Penn State Fayette rounded out the team standings.
The Phoenix will return to action next weekend when they play in the Cardinal Fall Classic hosted by Catholic on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27.
