(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The 2026 Wilson men's volleyball team is officially highly decorated as the United East announced seven Phoenix were named to the men's volleyball all-conference team on Tuesday. In addition to that,
Camden Sterner (Jr., Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) was a major award winner as he was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year.
Sterner and
Jackson Wolfe (So., Abbottstown, Pa. / New Oxford) were Wilson's two first team selections.
Jacob McCoy (Sr., York, Pa. / Spring Grove) and
Ryan Koontz (Jr., York Haven, Pa. / Red Land) received second team selections.
Demetrius Simmons (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg), Satvik Sharma (XXX), and
Adan Rodriguez-Sapien (Jr., Newport News, Va. / Woodside) took third team honors.
The selections come after the Blue and White finished their best season in program history. The 17 wins and the .654 winning percentage marks new program records for Wilson.
Sterner was a monster in the back row, anchoring a defense that averaged 10.78 digs per set which ranked 38th in Division III. Just by himself, Sterner averaged 2.86 digs per set which ranked him 17th in the nation. The Spring Grove, Pa., native led the conference with 81 digs in conference play, accumulating 204 digs in total. Ten times Sterner hit the double-digit dig mark, none more than his 18-dig performance in a match against Randolph College. This year, Sterner was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week twice.
Wolfe repeated his role as a first team selection after leading the team in kills per set with 2.95 and points per set with 3.78. Both ranked fourth in the conference. His hitting percentage of .281 was just outside of the top 100 in Division III. He was a force up front defensively as well where he blocked .738 attacks per set to put him second in the league and top 100 nationally.
McCoy becomes a two-time all-conference selection after he was a first team choice last year. He was one of the most efficient attackers nationally as he hit .435 to rank fifth in the nation. His .576 blocks per set also helped the Phoenix become one of the top defensive teams nationally as opponents hit just .136 against them on the year.
Koontz becomes a two-time selection as well after he was named to the third team in 2025. He was the top set-up man for the Phoenix as he led the team with 7.42 attacks per set. He was right behind Wolfe with 2.69 kills per set and had 3.37 points per set. He also added .530 aces per set to help the Phoenix rank second nationally in the category as a team.
Simmons also becomes a two-time honoree as he was a second team selection last season. He led the team with .539 aces per set and ranked No. 12 nationally. He was also a menace up front defensively with .719 blocks per set for the Phoenix.
Sharma was excellent as a setter all season and joins the group of two-time picks. He tallied 8.59 assists per set for the second-best mark in the conference. Sharma was also excellent serving where he put down .342 aces per set, No. 13 in the United East.
Rodriguez-Sapien caps an excellent first year with Wilson as a third team all-conference selection after reaching triple digits with 111 digs on the season. He reached double-figures in two matches with 11 against Arcadia and 10 against Hood. He recorded five or more digs in 11 matches.
The seven picks are the most by any team in the United East. It also sets a new Wilson record for most all-conference selections after the Phoenix had six selected in 2025.
