Men's Golf Has Strong Sunday To Finish Cardinal Classic

(HAGERSTOWN, Md.) – The Wilson men's golf team wrapped up its third event of the semester by placing 16th at the Cardinal Spring Classic hosted by Catholic University over the weekend. While weather heavily impacted scores in Saturday's first round, the Phoenix easily had the best Round 2 improvement as they lowered their score by 33 strokes on Sunday.

Saturday saw the Blue and White finish with a team score of 372. Sunday's 339 was spearheaded by Tristan Worlock (So., DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) who improved by 15 strokes alone. He carded an 82 on Sunday which was the best single round by anyone on the team over the weekend.

Junchen Huang (So., Taiwan / Veritas Meihua) was consistent between both rounds with an 86 on Saturday and an 85 on Sunday. He finished tied for 53rd in the individual standings to lead the team. Rob Kozicki (Jr., Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) wasn't too far behind with a 176 over the two rounds.

Bryson Curtis (So., Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) had the biggest improvement out of anyone as he scored an 86 on Sunday to complete the team score for Wilson's second round. While his first round didn't figure into the team score on the first day, he was 19 strokes better on Sunday.

Joeseph Ziercher (FY, Berryville, Va. / Clarke County) was the fifth member and a 193 between the two rounds with a five-strike improvement on Sunday.

Wilson will be back on the greens when it plays in the Spring Awakening hosted by Ursinus on Thursday.
