(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – The Wilson equestrian hunt seat team held its lone show of the year and finished fourth among some tight competition on Saturday at Hawthorne Arena. The Phoenix finished just one point behind champion Penn State with a tie for reserve champion teams between Susquehanna and Dickinson.
Individually
Eleana Arrowsmith (FY, Boyertown, Pa.) and
Danielle Garman (So., Dover, Pa.) highlighted the event for the Phoenix as they swept all sections of the novice equitation as they both received blue ribbons.
Team captain
Kendi Long (Sr., Media, Pa.) had a solid show as she rode to a second place finish in intermediate fences and was third in limit fences.
Emily Breighner (Jr., Nottingham, Md.) joined her with a second place finish in the intermediate flat.
Other top finished included
Alli Clayton (Sr., Morgantown, Pa.) taking second in limit fences and
Chloe Kelley (So., Taneytown, Md.) receiving second place in introductory equitation.
The home show also marked the first trips in the collegiate show pen for
Avery Kershner (Jr., Falling Waters, W.Va.) and
Taniya Flanigan (FY, Hagerstown, Md.).
The Phoenix will be back in the saddle in two weeks at shows hosted by Dickinson and Bucknell in New Jersey.
