(RINGOES, N.J.) – It was a busy weekend for Wilson equestrian as the hunt seat team was also in action with a pair of shows hosted by Dickinson in the Garden State. The Phoenix had one first place finish in the opening show and added two more blue ribbons on Sunday's show.
Brianna Coxon (FY, Tariffville, Conn.) was the highlight of Saturday's event as she took first in novice equitation. Wilson dominated the category as
Eleana Arrowsmith (FY, Boyertown, Pa.) finished second,
Sarah Disney (FY, Roaring Spring, Pa.) and
Abigail Lerch (FY, Elizabethtown, Pa.) placed third,
Danielle Garman (So., Dover, Pa.) and
Loralei Stambaugh (FY, York, Pa.) took fourth, and
Grace Lilliech (FY, Portage, Pa.) placed fifth.
Garman's finish had added importance as she pointed up into limit flat and fences in addition to qualifying for regionals.
Kendi Long (Sr., Media, Pa.) also shined as she finished third in intermediate equitation on the flat and fourth in limit equitation over fences. The fourth place finish also pointed her into intermediate fences and qualified her for regionals.
Chloe Kelley (So., Taneytown, Md.) added a third place finish in introductory equitation.
On Sunday, Disney and Lilliech took top honors as both finished first in novice equitation.
Emily Breighner (Jr., Nottingham, Md.) finished second in intermediate equitation on the flat and
Ally Clayton (Sr., Morgantown, Pa.) was third in limit equitation on the flat. Clayton added a fourth place finish in limit equitation to point up into intermediate fences and flat, respectively, to qualify for regionals in both limit flat and fences.
The Phoenix will now pause for the winter and return to the saddle on Saturday, March 21, in Tyrone for the regional championships.
