(FAYETTEVILLE, Pa.) – The men's golf season finally got underway as Wilson made the short trek to Penn National Golf Course to compete in the Penn State Mont Alto Fall Invitational. While the Phoenix didn't have a full squad competing, the trio that teed off had an incredible start to the season.
Robert Kozicki (Jr., Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) made the biggest headlines for the Blue and White as he set a new program record with a round of 78. That put him in a tie with Penn State Hazelton's Joey Rebarchick for third place in the individual standings.
The previous record was 79 which just happened to be matched by
Tristan Worlock (FY, DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central). That put him in a four-way tie for fifth with linksters from Penn State Fayette, Penn State Lehigh Valley, and Penn State Mont Alto.
Junchen Huang (FY, Taiwan / Veritas Meihua) rounded out the Phoenix golfers with a round of 90. Individually he was tied for 27th in the standings.
The Phoenix will return to the greens when they head down I-81 to play in the Cardinal Fall Classic a week from Saturday.
