Phoenix Linksters Finish Third

(MOOSIC, Pa.) – The Wilson men's golf team remained on the links, but played in a different event as it competed in the Gino Biondi Memorial Tournament hosted by Marywood on Monday. The Phoenix finished third in the event with all scores 90 or lower.

Yuchen Huang (FY, Taiwan / Veritas Meihua International) and Ben Metz (Jr., Denver, Pa. / Garden Spot) led the way for the Blue and White as they both carded an 87. Both birdied one hole on the day. Metz did so on a par five in Hole 1, while Huang did so on the 15th on a par three. The duo tied for ninth in the individual leader board.

Tristan Warlock (FY, DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) was a couple strokes behind them with a an 89. He pared five holes on the day. Dylan Skeele (Jr., DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) completed the quartet score with a 90. He also birdied one hole on the day with a three on the fifth.

Yeshiva won the event with a 316. Marywood was second with a 329. Yeshiva's Jake Rothenberg and Marywood's Colin Virkitis tied for first individually with a 78.
