Men's Golf Opens Spring Season At Penn State

(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) – The spring season finally started for the Wilson golf team as it made the trek to Penn State for the Pennsylvania Invitational hosted by Penn State Altoona. The Phoenix opened up the tournament with a team score of 361.

Dylan Skeele (Jr., DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) turned in the top card for the Blue and White as he entered the clubhouse with an 84. After hitting some trouble in the front nine, he closed with pars on five of nine holes on the back nine to give him seven pars on the day.

Robert Kozicki (So., Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) wasn't far behind him and carded an 88. The two-sport athlete faired better on the front with four of his six pars on the way out.

Tristan Worlock (FY, DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter) parred four holes and turned in a 92 while Yuchen Huang (FY, Taiwan / Veritas Meihua International) completed the team score with a 97.

Teague Spade (FY, Nanty Glo, Pa. / Blacklick Valley) was the fifth member on the team and finished with a 136.

Allegheny leads the event with a 289. Franklin & Marshall is second with a 291.

SATURDAY UPDATE

The Wilson men's golf team wrapped up its first event of the spring semester in the Pennsylvania Classic hosted by Penn State Altoona at Penn State University. A pair of the Phoenix linksters were able to improve upon their opening round scores, but the team score was not able to improve as the team finished the event with a 763.

Dylan Skeele (Jr., DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) cut down his score by three strokes with an 81 for a two-round total of 165. He finished tied for 60th in the field of over 100 individuals.

Tristan Worlock (FY, DeRuyter, N.Y. / DeRuyter Central) added a 93 for a total of 185. Yuchen Huang (FY, Taiwan / Veritas Meihua International) was third on the team with a 99. Teague Spade (FY, Nanty Glo, Pa. / Blacklick Valley) completed the team score with a 129 to improve upon Friday's round by seven strokes.

The Blue and White will return to the greens on Thursday as they head to Moosic, Pennsylvania, for the Gino Biondi Invitational hosted by Marywood at the Glenmaura National Golf Club.
