How It Happened
- After a balanced start that had both teams even after the first 12 points, Wilson took control with an 8-1 run to double up the Patriots 14-7. That lead grew to 11 on a couple of occasions before the Blue and White closed out the first set after a Patriots' error.
- The Phoenix lived up to their name at the start of the second with a blazing 8-1 start. An Addie Hebert (So., Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) ace later bumped up the Wilson lead to double digits. A Deah Menedis (Sr., Reisterstown, Md. / Franklin) kill later put Wilson up 24-13 before Amelia Edens (Sr., Pasadena, Md. / Glen Burnie) gave the Phoenix a 2-0 match lead with a kill.
- Abby Moreland (So., Sabillasville, Md. / Catoctin) capped a 5-0 run with an ace to open the third set and help Wilson set the tone once again. Menedis later put the Phoenix up 12 on a spike to the left corner and closed the match with a back row attack that was deflected out of bounds on the dig attempts.
