CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College men's soccer team returned to Kris's Meadow to take on the visiting Bobcats of Pitts-Greensburg. The Bobcats were quick to score giving them the early lead over the Phoenix. Pitts-Greensburg held onto their lead as time expired with a final score of 4-1.
How It Happened: The Bobcats scored their first goal early off a fast break down the sideline and a cross into the box, giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead after four minutes of play. Ten minutes later, Pitts-Greensburg extended their lead over Wilson. The Bobcats would double their lead in the following ten minutes, giving them a 4-0 lead with 15 minutes remaining. Wilson would get their first shot of the match off the foot ofÂ
Nicholas Mattson (Pennsburg, PA., Upper Perkiomen)Â that went wide of the net in the 35th minute. In the second half, the Phoenix came ready to play with an early save fromÂ
Vincent Natale (Mt. Airy, Maryland, Linganore High School)Â giving Wilson some momentum early. Wilson had three shots in the first ten minutes of the second half compared to the Bobcat's two shots. The game was balanced for the next thirty minutes until the Phoenix were awarded a penalty kick in the 86th minute. Wilson's leading scorer
Aidan Diem (Baltimore, MD, Archbishop Curley High School), stepped on to the spot and secured the lone goal for the Phoenix after making the shot to bring the score to its final of 4-1.
