CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Wilson College men's soccer team faced off against the Goucher College Gophers in a nonconference matchup. The Phoenix and the Gophers had a hard-fought battle in the first half before Goucher gained control to finish the game out with a final score of 4-0.
How It Happened: The Wilson defense played a huge part in the first half. The Phoenix faced 15 shots in the first half from the Gophers, however, the Phoenix held on to keep the game scoreless at 0-0. Both
Connor Bowers (Hagerstown, MD, North Hagerstown High School) and Brandom Rios ( Carolina, Puerto Rico, Colegio Bautista De Carolina) each were able to get a shot off but could not find the back of the net. After an even battle in the first half, the Gophers were able to crack the Wilson defense in the 50th minute giving them a 1-0 lead over the Phoenix. The goals continued for Goucher scoring another two goals in five goals to expand their lead over Wilson to 3-0. Ten minutes later, the Gophers scored their fourth goal and finished out the day on top of the Phoenix with a final score of 4-0.

Noah Wickenheiser, Victor Ortiz, Aidan Diem, and Brandom Rios each trailing with one apiece. Freshman goalkeeper
Vincent Natale tallied three saves along with other key touches to help keep the Phoenix tied going init the first half.
