BRADFORD, P.a.- The Wilson College baseball team took to the road today for a non-conference tune-up against the University of Pitt- Bradford. The Phoenix (28-9, 10-2 CSAC) ended the game on top of the Panthers with a final score of 4-2.

Brandon Cook (Glen Burnie, MD., Shepherd University) was the first Phoenix to reach home after a sacrifice fly from junior
Michael Marrale (Sykesville, MD, Old Dominion Univ.) early in the first inning. The Panthers tied the game at the bottom of the third inning to bring the score to 1-1. Wilson broke the stalemate in the top of the sixth inning after junior
Dean Mercer (Dunedin, FL., Clearwater Central Catholic) hit a double to left field, freshman
Doc Daniels (Deal Island, MD, Crisfield HS) hit a single up the middle bringing home Mercer to give the Phoenix a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Pitt- Bradford tied the game at two apiece. The score remained 2-2 until the top of the ninth inning when the Phoenix secured two runs. Sophomore
Haden Hoff (Westminster, MD, Fairmont State Univ.) was brought home after hitting a double to right field, then Marrale hit a single that allowed for Cook to bring the Phoenix to the final score of 4-2.
Inside the Box Score: Cook led the team with two runs, one hit, and one RBI. Marrale followed suit leading the team in RBIs with two RBIs, and two hits. Wilson finished the game with four runs, 12 hits, and one error while the Panthers finished ended with two runs, five hits, and two errors.
Up Next: The Phoenix will host the number three seed Cairn University in the CSAC Playoffs on Friday, May 6 at 2 p.m.
