CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Wilson College men's soccer team took on Penn State Brandywine in a nonconference match-up earlier this afternoon. The Phoenix managed to score one but ultimately came up short as the final score was 4-1.
How It Happened: The Lions found their first goal of the game in the first 10 minutes. Six minutes later, the Lions earned a penalty kick and were able to convert for another goal. The Phoenix got a shot off in byÂ
Andrew Gervasi (Hanover, PA, Delcne Catholic High School)Â however the shot was blocked. A few minutes later, Penn State was able to extend their lead to three after a corner kick. Wilson was able to secure their only goal of the game off a free kick pass fromÂ

Jorge Cortez (Columbia, TN, Spring Hill High School)Â to bring the score to 3-1 heading into the half. Ten minutes into the second half, the Lions were able to secure their final goal of the game. Wilson would have three more shots but were unable to find the back of the net.Â
Inside the Box Score: Wilson finished the game with nine shots, five corners, and three saves.Â
Jorge Cortez and Ryder Wallace finished with two shots each while four other Phoenix tallied one shot each.
