LANGHORNE, P.a.- The Wilson College men's soccer team faced off earlier against conference opponent Cairn University. The Highlanders were able to hold their lead over the Phoenix as time expired with a final score of 6-0.
How It Happened: The Wilson defense held strong for the first 25 minutes of the game totaling three saves, before letting in the first goal of the game. In the next 20 minutes, the Highlanders were able to extend their lead to 3-0. 10 minutes into the second half, Cairn scored their fourth goal of the game. Over the next twenty minutes, Wilson continued to play hard defense earning two more saves. In the 80th minute, the Highlanders were able to further their lead to 5-0. The final goal of the game was scored in the 88th minute moving the score to its final 6-0.

Vincent Natale (Mt. Airy, Maryland, Linganore High School) and Billy Merk (Macungie, PA, Lehigh Carbon Community College) combined for seven saves after facing 13 shots on goal. The Phoenix offense totaled four shots over the course of 90 minutes with
Wyatt Tribett (Myersville, MD, Middletown High School) having two shots, followed by
Brian Mulholland (Oracle,AZ, Canyon del Oro High School) and Victor Ortiz (Caguas, Puerto Rico, Ana G. Mendez University System) each having one shot on the day.
Up Next: The Phoenix will return home for Homecoming Weekend against the University of Valley Forge at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. This game will also serve as Senior Day for the Phoenix.
