Hood Blazes By Phoenix in Volleyball

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College volleyball team hosted Hood College in non-conference action this evening. The Blazers topped the Phoenix by a score of 3-0.

The Blazers (7-10) defeated the Phoenix (0-11) by scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-7. Freshman Laury Jean Baptiste (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Coconut Creek) led the Phoenix with 6 kills while classmate Kaydi Brubaker (Williamsburg, Pa., Williamsburg) finished with 5 kills. Sophomore Hanna Quarry (Elizabethtown, Pa., Elizabethtown) had a team high 12 digs, while freshman Simahj James (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Northeast High) led the way with 12 assists.

For the match, the Phoenix had 16 kills against 18 errors on 66 attempts for a -.030 attacking percentage.

Wilson will be back on the court this Saturday as the team travels to another NEAC Crossover hosted by the College of Saint Elizabeth. The Phoenix open with the host Eagles at 11:00 a.m. followed by a match with Penn State Abington at 3:00 p.m. A match with Bryn Athyn College on Sunday at noon will wrap up the weekend.
