Lions Roar Past Phoenix in Volleyball

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The Wilson College women's volleyball team finished up play in a North Eastern Athletic Conference crossover versus Bryn Athyn this afternoon. The Phoenix were defeated by the Lions by a score of 3-0.

The Lions (6-8, 3-5 NEAC) won by scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-13. The Phoenix (0-14, 0-7 NEAC) were led by freshman Laury Jean Baptiste (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Coconut Creek) who had 6 kills, 7 digs and 3 blocks. Fellow freshman Simahj James (Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Northeast High) led the Phoenix with 8 assists and sophomore Hanna Quarry (Elizabethtown, Pa., Elizabethtown) tallied a team high 9 digs.


For the match the Phoenix had 16 kills against 23 errors on 84 attempts fro an attacking percentage of -.083. The Lions had 26 kills against 9 errors on 72 attempts for an attacking percentage of .236.

Wilson will be back on the court this Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. versus Penn State Berks.
