(LATHAM, N.Y.) – For the second week in a row and for the fourth time this season, Wilson has a United East Player of the Week selection. This time the honors are going to
Camden Sterner (Jr., Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) for his defensive abilities in three matches over the previous seven days.
Sterner led the back line of the Phoenix defense by totaling 39 digs and averaging 13 per match over the previous week. He picked up nine in a midweek road trip to Wilkes in which the Blue and White faced defeat in a hard-fought contest in four. On Saturday, he added a dozen in a win against Averett and 18 more in a four-set battle at Randolph.
Sterner is currently third in the United East with 3.09 digs per set and one of nine players to record over 100 digs so far this season.
The Phoenix are back in action and opens conference play on Tuesday.
