(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The New Year has started off well for the Wilson men's basketball team and the United East has taken notice as
Jalen Bowie has been named Defensive Player of the Week. The senior guard helped the Phoenix to a pair of wins over Lebanon Valley and Rosemont.
Against the Flying Dutchmen, Bowie was a rebound shy of a double-double in the Phoenix's return to action while adding two steals and two blocks. He followed up with five more rebounds, two more blocks, and another steal as Wilson defeated Rosemont in the return to conference action.
This is the second United East Player of the Week selection by Bowie in the past three selections.
The Phoenix return to the court this Saturday when they head to Williamsport to take on Penn. Tip-off with the Wildcats is set for 1 p.m.
