Double Play! Middlebrooks, Smith Slide Into All-Conference Honors

(LATHAM, N.Y.) – Harry Middlebrooks (So., Bel Aid, Md. / Archbishop Curley) and Tyler Smith (So., Crofton, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) received postseason honors Wednesday as both were named to the 2025 Baseball United East All-Conference Team. The duo were both selected to the second team with Middlebrooks named as a middle infielder while Smith laid claim to one of the outfield spots.

Middlebrooks doubles-up as an all-conference selection after being a named an All-Conference Skye Division First Team pick in 2024. The shortstop hit .371 on the year with 43 hits and had an OPS of 1.070. He was third in the league with 15 doubles, third-most in program history, and one of the team's main sources of offense where he was second with 32 runs and 38 RBIs, which were also good for 17th in the conference. Middlebrooks also proved to be the toughest to strike out in the conference with just five strikeouts on the season giving him a rate that's No. 17 in Division III.

Smith was the other main source of run production. He was 14th in the United East with a .390 batting average, 11th with a .625 slugging percentage, and 14th with a 1.077 OPS. His 41 RBIs put him in the top 10 in the conference, while his 12 doubles were 11th and 53 hits were in the top 20. Smith was also in the top 10 for home runs with six round trips on the season, tied for third-most in program history. The left fielder had 16 multiple-hit games and 10 multiple-RBI games to lead the team. One of those multiple-RBI games was the season opener where he hit in seven runs in a 12-5 win over DelVal for a new program record.
