(LITTLESTOWN, Pa.) – The season resumed in spectacular fashion for the Wilson equestrian hunt seat team as the Phoenix were the high point team at Saturday's show hosted by Penn State Altoona. The Blue and White received five first place ribbons and saw
Sam Gilley (Jr., Sykesville, Md.) qualify for regionals.
Two of the first place finishes came in limit hunter seat equitation on the flat with
Jenna Howell (Jr., Morganza, Md.) and
Kendi Long (Jr., Media, Pa.) tying for top honors.
Wilson had a pair of 1-2 finishes in intermediate over fences and intermediate on the flat, respectively.
Tess Hairston (FY, Selden, N.Y.) and
Kylie Wright (Sr., York Springs, Pa.) took the top two spots in intermediate over fences while
Emily Johnson (Jr., Wellsville, Pa.) and
Emily Breighner (So., Nottingham, Md.) did so on the flat.
Danielle Garman (FY, Dover, Pa.) finished first in novice hunter seat equitation on the flat.
Taylor Hayes (So., Nescopeck, FY) was first in limit hunter over fences.
The Phoenix had a pair or second place finishes with Garman getting a runners up novice on the flat and
Chloey Kelley doing so in introductory hunter seat on the flat. Gilley finished third in the open hunter on the flat.
The Phoenix will ride again in three weeks when hit heads east for the regional championships as well as the regular season finale.
