(LATHAM, N.Y.) – The 2025-26 United East Men's Basketball Preseason Poll has been released and Wilson has been selected seventh in the field of 14 teams. The rankings were voted on by all of the head coaches for men's basketball in the United East.
The Phoenix are coming off of another winning season within the league with an appearance in the quarterfinals after a defeat of St. Elizabeth in the conference tournament.
Penn State Harrisburg was picked to win the United East and received eight of the first place votes. Lancaster Bible, the league champion two seasons ago, was picked second and picked up five first place votes. Notre Dame came in third and took the lone outstanding top vote after advancing to the tournament championship last season.
St. Mary's and Cairn round out the top five teams in fourth and fifth, respectively. Penn State Abington sits in sixth just ahead of the Phoenix.
Teams open the season this week and will compete for a spot in the United East Championship tournament which begins with the first round on Wednesday, February 18. The quarterfinals will follow that Saturday. Semifinal games will be played Tuesday, February 24, with the championship final on Saturday, February 28.
Wilson opens the season with local Route 30 rival Gettysburg on Friday at 6 p.m. as part of the Bullets' tip-off tournament. Depending on the results, the Phoenix will then play either Eastern or Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
Conference action will begin on Saturday, January 3, as Wilson heads to Rosemont to take on the Ravens.
