Sullivan Secures United East Defensive Player of the Week Recognition

(LATHAM, N.Y.) – For the second consecutive week, Wilson has earned United East Defensive Player of the Week honors with Erin Sullivan (Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) being named after her play against Cedar Crest on Saturday. The sophomore goalkeeper helped the Phoenix open conference play with a shutout over Cedar Crest, the Blue and White's third-straight as they cross the midway point of the season.

The Phoenix opened up a big lead with three goals against the Falcons in the first quarter, but the visitors still tested the Wilson defense. Sullivan's play was instrumental in keeping the visitors off the scoreboard as she deflected away four saves evenly split between the second and third quarters.

On top of that, Sullivan helped the Phoenix avoid further danger when the Falcons were awarded five penalty corners over the middle two frames.

This is the second time Sullivan has been named Defensive Player of the Week with the other time being on October 7, 2024.

Sullivan and the Phoenix return to action on Friday when they host Ohio Wesleyan.
