CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Wilson College women's soccer team took on conference opponent, the University of Valley Forge earlier today. The Phoenix offense had a busy one today, beating the Patriots with a final score of 13-0.
How It Happened: The first goal for Wilson came in the 27th minute off the foot of
Chloe Antalek (Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Beacon) after many attempts by the Phoenix. Four minutes later,
Gretchen Turner (York, Pa., Northeastern) scored the second goal of the game off a pass from
Jade Wolfe (Mercersburg, Pa, James Buchanan). Next,
Teaghan Ewing (Font Royal, Va., Skyline) found the back of the net assisted by
Hannah Woodward (Gettysburg, Pa., Biglerville) two minutes after the previous goal. After two corner kicks and two shots,
Chloe Antalek secured her second goal of the game, and a minute later, her third securing a hat trick to end the half.
In the second half, it took ten minutes for the Phoenix offense to find the back of the net again this time off the foot of
Maddy Miller (Dillsburg, Pa., Northern). Bailey Miller (Sterling, Va., Washington) was the next player to earn a goal bringing the score to 7-0 after 60 minutes of play. Five minutes later,
Katie Riley (Mt. Airy, Md., Urbana) scored off a pass from
Hannah Woodward. The next four goals were scored by
Rachel Coulter (Woodbridge, Va., Garfield) in a 10-minute span expanding the Phoenix lead to 12-0 with 10 minutes remaining.
Teaghan Ewing secured herself a brace after scoring her second of the game and the game's final goal to bring the score to 13-0.
Inside the Box Score: Wilson had 31 shots on goal and 22 corner kicks over the course of ninety minutes.
Rachel Coulter led the way for the Phoenix scoring four goals, followed by
Chloe Antalek with a hat trick, and
Teaghan Ewing with a brace. With a strong offensive effort, Wilson held the Patriots to zero shots to the Phoenix 67 shots.
