(VILLANOVA, Pa.) – In just her second collegiate game
Paige Ney (Fr., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) made quite the impact in helping a balanced Wilson attack en route to victory. As a result, she has been earned weekly accolades by being named the CSAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
It is Wilson's first Player of the Week honor since
Michaela Singer earned it last season in the week ending October 11.
Ney started the scoring early in Wilson's 21st consecutive regular season win on Saturday as she scored just 45 seconds into the contest against Wells. It took her less than seven minutes to find the back of the goal once again as the Phoenix took a 2-0 lead.
She wasn't finished she scored her third and fourth goals early in the third quarter on assists from
Brea Kelso (So., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) and
Elizabeth Landon (Fr., West Grove, Pa. / Avon Grove).
Ney also assisted a goal of her own as she helped
Abigail Rosenberry (Sr., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) score her second of the game early in the second quarter that made the score 4-0 at the time.
She and the rest of the Phoenix will look to make it 22-straight when they head to McDaniel on Tuesday evening.
