Field Hockey Falls At Harrisburg, Gets Rematch With Immaculata

(MIDDLETOWN, Pa.) – Two first quarter goals were the difference in Saturday's regular season finale as Wilson fell to Penn State Harrisburg. With the result, the Phoenix will head into next week's United East Championship as the No. 5 seed while the Lions draw a bye to the semifinals as the No. 1 seed.

The Basics

Score: Wilson 0, Penn State Harrisburg 2

Venue: Penn State Harrisburg Turf Complex

Records: Wilson 5-8, 3-3 UE; Penn State Harrisburg 10-5, 6-0 UE

How It Happened
  • The Lions benefitted from a fast start as it took them 70 seconds to score when Sadie Cook found the back of the cage on an assist from Alysa McCarthy. Cook wasn't finished as she scored the double eight minutes later on a helper from Astrid Comp.
  • Wilson fought throughout the contest and looked to answer immediately after as Ginnah Kendall (So., McConnellsburg, Pa. / Forbes Road) had a shot that was saved. At the start of the second, Kate Seymour (Sr., Churchton, Md. / Southern) also had a good look that required the Lions' keeper. Seymour and Kendall added shots in the third and fourth, respectively, however, Seymour's take in the third was saved and Kendall had hers blocked.
Inside The Numbers
  • Erin Sullivan (Jr., Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) made three saves on the day.
  • Harrisburg led the shot count 8-4 overall and 5-3 in shots on goal.
  • Penalty corners were also close with the Lions holding a 6-4 advantage.
