CARLISLE, Pa.- The Wilson College softball team hit the road to Dickinson College for a non-conference doubleheader. The Phoenix (6-7-1, 0-0 CSAC) split the day with the Red Devils (4-9) after dropping the first game 4-5 and coming back to win the second game 5-4.
Game One: Super seniorÂ
Megan Potter (Hagerstown, MD., South Hagerstown) started on the mound for the Phoenix and would start the first inning with three quick outs. Dickinson would start their scoring in the bottom of the second inning after an error for Wilson. Wilson responded with two runs of their own at the top of the fourth off a passed ball and an RBI to give the Phoenix a 2-1 lead. Dickinson answered at the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at two. JuniorÂ
Taylor Barker (Chehalis, WA., WF West)Â hit a double in the top of the fifth inning allowing graduate studentÂ
Katey Roth (Lebanon, PA., Lebanon)  to cross home plate and regain the lead. The Red Devils responded with another run in the bottom of the fifth to keep the game tied. The game remained tied pushing into extra innings with the score at 3-3. Wilson started with juniorÂ
Alecia Hamilton (Canton, OH., Glenoak)Â on second and successfully got her home off a sacrifice fly from graduate studentÂ
Meghan Bradley (Warrington, PA., Central Bucks South)Â to give the Phoenix a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the eighth. The Red Devils were able to score two runs, with one off of a triple which was immediately followed by an RBI single to end the game with a final score of 5-4.Â

Hamilton would all earn runs for the Phoenix. Potter ended the day with six strikeouts against 30 batters while allowing 10 hits and three earned runs.Â
Game Two: Wilson started the scoring in the second game with their first runs coming in the top of the second inning.Â
Barker started the scoring after capitalizing on a wild pitch by the Red Devils andÂ
Bradley reached home afterÂ
Alyssa Wenger (Chambersburg, PA., Chambersburg)Â was walked with bases loaded to bring the score to 2-0. Dickinson was quick to regain the lead and earned four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-2 lead over the Phoenix. The scoring would stall for both teams until the top of the seventh inning when Wilson would break the stalemate. Fifth-yearÂ
Jenna Carty (Chambersburg, PA., Greencastle-Antrim)Â earned an RBI with a single to center field which allowed Wenger to score for the Phoenix cutting the Red Devil lead to two. Later in the inning,Â
Bradley hit a double to left field bringing homeÂ

Karah Stiffler (McConnellsburg, PA, McConnellsburg)Â to give Wilson a 5-4 lead over Dickinson. The Phoenix defense held strong to close out the game on top.
Inside the Box Score: Bradley finished the game with one run, one hit, and two RBIs on four at-bats. Carty led the team with hits earning two hits and one RBI on four at-bats.Â
Butterfield earned her first win of the season for the Phoenix after having two strikeouts and only allowing 10 hits against 30 batters.Â
