CHAMBERSBURG, Pa- The Wilson College women's soccer team kicked off against the Rosemont College Ravens. The Phoenix improved their record in the CSAC to 7-0-1 after beating the Ravens earlier this afternoon with a final score of 6-0.
How It Happened: Halley Shaffer (Sunbury, Pa., Line Mountain) got the scoring started for the Phoenix as she scored her first goal of the game in the second minute of action. Wilson had six more shots before
Bailey Miller (Sterling, Va., Washington) was able to extend the Phoenix lead to 2-0 in the 21st minute. With the remaining minutes of the first half, Wilson outshot Rosemont seven to one.
Halley Shaffer scored the next three goals for the Phoenix in the 54th minute, 63rd minute, and lastly, an upper 90 shot to the far post in the 65th minute to bring the Phoenix lead to 5-0. In the 71st minute,
Katie Riley (Mt. Airy, Md., Urbana) added to the Wilson lead with a goal of her own to bring the game to 6-0. Over the last 20 minutes of the game, the Phoenix had two shots and two corner kicks to finish out the game with a final score of 6-0.
Inside the Box Score: Wilson finished the game with 31 shots from nine different players and scored six goals.
Halley Shaffer led the team in goals with four goals, her season high. Wilson goalkeeper
Rebecca Marakovitz (New Market, Md., Linganore), earned another shutout for the Phoenix, her eighth of the season.
