ROSEMONT, Pa. - The Wilson College field hockey team was selected second in the 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Field Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll released this afternoon. The Giants received 60 points and four first-place votes, just two points ahead of Wilson who received 58 points and four first-place votes. The Phoenix are the defending champion, defeating Keystone 1-0 in overtime in 2019 to advance to the NCAA tournament. The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conference play commences on opening day, Wednesday, September 1, as Wilson plays host to Sweet Briar. After a stretch on non-conference games, conference play will resume on Thursday, September 28, where the Phoenix will travel to Lancaster Bible.
The CSAC Championship, featuring the top four teams, is set to begin on Wednesday, November 3. The championship, to determine the CSAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament, is set for Saturday, November 6.
