Bryn Athyn Topple Phoenix at Home

Box Score Chambersburg, Pa. – The Phoenix men basketball team suffered a 84-69 loss against Bryn Athyn College at home on January 27.

The Phoenix came out flat against the Lions in the first half, chasing a 20-8 deficit with 13:55 remaining. Wilson played from behind as they struggled to defend the three point line against the Lions and experienced early periods of cold shooting. Wilson was outrebounded 21-10 in the first half and the Lions shot an impressive 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the arch.

Wilson tried to play catch up in the second half but could only pull within nine points of evening the game. Bryn Athyn continued to hit big shots under pressure causing the Phoenix to press on offense. The Lions were able to pull away and expand their lead to take the game comfortably.

Four Phoenix starters ended the game in double-digit scoring. Marqwon Wynn led the offense with 17 points, while Ben Holl followed with 16 points. Zach Gasper contributed with 12 points while Rasul Jackson added 10 points.

Wilson will host Lancaster Bible College on Friday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. for a conference game.
