The Wilson College field hockey team recorded a 4-0 home win against Notre Dame of Maryland University this afternoon. With the all-around team victory, the Phoenix improve to 3-6 on the season.
Wilson dominated on their half of the field throughout the game being very aggressive against the Gators. Junior
Nicole Melanson scored the first goal for the Phoenix unassisted 7:35 in the game. Freshman
Megan Sterling shot a goal in the net off a pass by junior
Hillary Swartz. The team tallied 13 shots in the first half and held the Gators to zero shots.
The Phoenix continued their attack in the second half when sophomore
Taylor Crouse netted a goal by the cage off a pass by senior Brittany Smith 36:51 in. Wilson ended their offensive display with a goal unassisted by senior
Megan Schneck. Wilson was able to hold the Gators to one shot for the contest and produce solid defense giving them more possessions. The Phoenix held the advantage in penalty corners with 21 in the game.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, September 25
th when they travel to Washington and Jefferson College for a 7:00pm game.
